Machakos town is a 30 minute drive from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and connects Nairobi County to the Konza Techno City, a Kenya Vision 2030 flagship project that is set to be Africa’s first Silicon Savannah and an oasis of modern living and class. Machakos houses a total population of 1.2 million people, 300,000 households with a population density of 177 persons per SQ KM.

Since the onset of devolution in Kenya, the government of Machakos County has progressively created a favorable business climate through robust investment and incentive policies. The County plays host to many local and international investment companies that command regional market leadership in mining, hospitality, manufacturing, food, agriculture and many other economic sectors that position the Machakos as a prime location for doing business in Africa.

Machakos County borders Kenya’s Capital on the south, stretching to cover 6,208 sq. kms and sitting on an altitude of 1000 – 1600 meters above sea level. Machakos town serves as the county headquarters’ having been established in 1889 as the Kenya’s first administrative center for the British colony.
